In the ultra-secure state prison Cutter's Rock is serial killer Edgar Roy imprisoned pending his trial. It is almost certain that he will be judged. Privetectives Sean King and Michelle Maxwell by Roys lawyer Ted Bergin, an old friend of King, asked him to assist. In an attempt to figure out what exactly happened, takes King, who is also a lawyer, the defense of Roy himself. Together with Maxwell he searches for answers to questions everyone from the road.
